2025 | Commercial & Leisure

Like a genie in a lamp, Jason Elphick granted the client its dearest wish on this scheme by delivering the formidably rapid programme – and without quality or budget paying the price. His meticulous planning of operations achieved all the project milestones.
About the Project
Cozenton Park Sports Centre
His appointment of a specialist contractor minimised the hybrid-frame risk. He smoothly coordinated the mix of steel, cross-laminated timber, glulam beam and columns, and precast concrete structural elements while staying true to the design aesthetic.
Jason also dispensed with traditional scaffolding, allowing the external works to begin more quickly and gaining watertightness early on. Without sheeted scaffold, he encased the steels in the cement particle board used in the cladding build-up to make the application of intumescent coatings to the perimeter steel weather-independent.
His rationalisation of the main M&E from gas-based to air-source slashed installation costs. The savings were invested in building out the originally minimal solar-panel array so that it completely covered the roof, cutting over £30k a year from future energy bills.
For Jason, openness and transparency in dealing with the client and professional team creates a win-win working environment. The client was delighted not just with its replacement facility but also the process and approach that delivered it
