The big challenge was to find a clear pathway to delivery. With the build footprint leaving little room for storage and logistics, his careful planning and good organisation were key. By engaging with neighbouring landowners, he was able to establish the compound setup nearby. He cleared the site decks for the workforce throughout the day by preloading materials and erecting the scaffolding outside of normal hours.

One of his innovations included bringing in an independent company to carry out all fire-stopping treatment to service penetrations. This provided assurance that all works complied with the fire strategy and building regulations.

He kept morale high by engaging the workforce and empowering them to deliver the best work they could. He dealt with problems at source himself rather than letting them overwhelm the site team.

Jon engaged equally effectively with the purchasers, arranging an early open weekend and a ‘dusty shoe day’ so that each could view their own future home. He organised the home demonstrations and ensured the properties were to a quality that the new occupiers could be proud of.
