2024 | Equality, Diversity & Inclusion - Individual Award Winner

A senior project manager at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Katy Robinson is proactive about making a difference and positively challenging working practices. She recently highlighted the limitations of women’s PPE from the council’s provider and has worked to make it easily accessible. In her own time, she co-founded the Yorkshire branch of the National Association of Women in Construction, holding events to encourage 4,600 female students in 55 schools across Yorkshire to consider a career in construction. Her creation of the School2Site programme has allowed female school students to visit construction sites across Yorkshire and has since been adopted across other regions. She also works with a number of organisations to encourage young women to consider a construction career.
