About the CIOB Team Award

‘It was a team effort’.

The CIOB Team Award celebrates the collaboration and combined efforts of groups of people working together to meet a combined goal.

Teams can be any group of 3 or more persons working within the built environment within a single organisational entity.

How to Enter

What you will need to complete your application or make a nomination

To enter, click ‘Enter Now’. Then, select the award that you would like to enter and fill in your details. Once submitted, you will receive an email which will contain a link to your CIOB Awards portal. The portal will contain the form for the award that you have selected to enter.

Please see the guidelines below for more information about what our judges consider and tips to help you with this process.

This award is open to UK-based teams.

The team should comprise of 3 or more persons and must operate within the built environment. We expect the team to be working for a single organisational entity.

The nominated team can have worked for a CMYA entrant company (this year or previous years).

You may nominate your own team. The independent testimonial must come from someone outside the team’s organisation with direct knowledge or experience of working with the nominated team.

All of the above should be based on evidence from January – December 2023.

The submission deadline is 13 September 2024.

The judges will look for examples showing evidence of the following:

  • a team vision aligned to business, corporate and project objectives
  • strong leadership
  • clearly defined roles
  • contribution from all members
  • effective communication within and beyond the team, including with external stakeholders
  • mechanism for dealing with conflict
  • demonstration of mutual trust, support and values
  • evidence of equality, diversity and inclusion
  • mentoring opportunities
  • successful performance outcomes
  • Other targeted objectives may include sales, new client development, innovation, quality, client satisfaction, Health & Safety, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), individual and collective professional development, continuous improvement

How do I nominate someone for the Team Award?

To nominate a team, select the ‘Enter Today’ button above, select the Team Award and fill in your details. Once submitted, you will receive an email which will contain a link to your CIOB Awards portal. The portal will contain the form for the Team Award where you can submit your nomination.

Can I provide the Testimonial for the team I am nominating?

The Independent Testimonial must come from someone outside the team’s organisation with direct knowledge or experience of working with the nominated team.

Who can enter the Team Award?

Teams can be any group of 3 or more persons, working within the built environment within a single organisational entity. The category is free to enter and open to CIOB members and non-members.

Who is eligible to enter this award?

We are looking for teams deserving of recognition, and celebration within the timeframe of January to December 2022.

Who should nominate?

The independent testimonial must come from someone outside the team’s organisation, with direct knowledge or experience of working with them. A team can be nominated if they have worked for a CMYA entrant’s company (past or present).
