About the Rising Star Award

Celebrating the latest talent in the construction industry

Highlighting the best new talent across the globe, the International Rising Star Award considers entries from individuals that have been in the construction industry for 5 years or less and have demonstrated excellence in their work, the industry and amongst their peers.

Rising stars stand out from the crowd and make a real impact on their project, employer, team and the industry as a whole. Our stringent judging panel takes all areas of the application into consideration to decide on our International Rising Star.

What we’re looking for

 The judges will look for:

  • Evidence of working in the built environment for a period of less than 5 years.
  • Role of the candidate.
  • Career achievements to date.
  • How has this candidate made a mark on the employer, industry and their colleagues?
  • Why is this candidate different from others in a similar position?
  • What makes them stand out in a business?
  • How does this candidate demonstrate the values of Professionalism, Integrity, Excellence and Respect? This could be in their work, industry, amongst their peers and/or within society.

The CIOB Awards are open to both members and non-members of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
